She was always so pretty, the way her short dark brown hair framed her lovely face perfectly, and was just the right length to bring out the beautifully accented features on her pale face, Matthew Williams thought to himself as he gazed at Andrea wistfully. She was smiling cheerfully at Alfred F. Jones and discussing whether Burger King or McDonald's had better fast food. The American claimed that both were equally good, but McDonald's had a better price for a burger. If only she would turn around to look at me- The Canadian's thoughts were interrupted when Andrea sat down next to him, continuing to smile widely.

"Hello, Matthew~" she piped sweetly, and he felt his heartbeat begin to pick up speed as he opened and closed his mouth wordlessly before managing to murmur a quick greeting in response.

She tilted her head, completely oblivious to his romantic feelings for her. "How are ya doing?" she asked him blissfully.

Matthew gulped hard and attempted to return her gorgeous smile with a shy, awkward one of his own. "I'm doing well, and you?"

"Just fine, thank you." Andrea replied, before dissolving into giggles that sounded like music to his ears. "We sound like a couple of two stiff adults!" she remarked, her dark brown eyes twinkling like shining stars.

"Y-Yeah." He agreed, a little blush beginning to adorn his cheeks. She continued to smile at him, and paused as Arthur Kirkland and Francis Bonnefoy strolled into the large, hardly full meeting room together.

"That's odd, Yao and Ivan are missing." Arthur remarked, taking a good look around the room. Alfred stood at the front of the room, shockingly silent. The American's blue eyes seemed to be engrossed in staring out the window. Matthew peeked out the window as well to see what had captured Alfred's attention.

Sure enough, Ivan Braginsky was dragging a kicking and screaming Yao Wang into the meeting building.

"No, aru! I don't want to attend the meeting, aru!" Yao yelled, struggling angrily. Unfortunately, the Russian could easily give Chuck Norris a run for his money, so Yao's struggling was futile.

"We do not want to be even later, da?" Ivan told Yao, sounding completely innocent, just like a small child.

"It's your fault we're late in the first place, aru! If you hadn't insisted on taking Esperanza-" Yao protested, but was quickly silenced when the Russian put a huge gloved hand over his mouth.

"Заткнись!" Ivan snapped childishly, sounding somewhat sulky.

The Chinese man merely sighed in defeat and grumbled, "Since you already took the liberty of dragging me all the way out here, let's go inside already, aru."

The other man smiled, and continued to pull Yao into the building. In a matter of minutes, the two of them had reached the meeting room's doorway.

"You're late." Arthur griped impatiently as Ivan and Yao opened the heavy steel double doors to enter the meeting room.

"It's all Ivan's fault, aru!" Yao complained, pointing a finger at said Russian, who ignored him and proceeded to sit on top of Matthew.

"M-maple…leaf…" The Canadian squeaked, trying fruitlessly to push the six foot two inches of pure Russian muscle off.

"Ack! Ivan, you're crushing poor Matthew!" Andrea cried, tugging on his beige uniform sleeve.

"Oh, sorry." Ivan stood up quickly, and Matthew sighed with relief.

"Thank y-you." He said softly to his savior.

"Hehe, you're very welcome." She replied, flashing a quick grin at him. "I'm more than happy to help."

"Dudes, let's get this meeting started!" Alfred yelled, springing back to life now that the entertainment was over. "Our company, the Allies, is starting to run low on funds, so I propose appointing a hero to the rescue!"

"No, thanks. If by 'hero' you mean yourself, you're just going to make our financial situation a whole lot worse." Arthur snapped peevishly, his hand making an obvious
thumbs-down gesture.

"Let's all get along, da?" Ivan smiled innocently, a deep purple aura starting to form around him.

Matthew flinched. Ivan's so scary, he thought, clutching his stuffed polar bear closer as if that would scare the Russian.

"Dude, Matthew, aren't you getting a little old for that Mr. Kuma-whatever?" Alfred asked, suddenly changing topics.

"No, he's not!" Andrea interjected, sticking up for the Canadian. "Mr. Kumajirou is very cute, and nobody can ever grow too old for him!"

"You are all so immature, aru. If we want to raise our company's finances, we will have to be able to compete with our rivals, the Axis Powers. Instead of arguing over pointless subjects, we should focus on the improvement of our products, aru." Yao stated, fixing his dark side ponytail.

"Yao's right." Arthur commented, nodding his shaggy blonde head in approval of the Chinese man's words.

"Haha! I was going to suggest that-" Alfred was cut off when the Brit hissed, "Just shut up already, wanker!"

"I agree with Yao; we should work on improving ourselves rather than fighting." Francis, who had seemed to be lost in thought, finally spoke up.

"Da, I agree as well." Ivan said, and Andrea nodded.

"Me too." She added, winking.

"Great! Everybody agrees!" Alfred beamed, giving a big thumbs-up.

I didn't even get a chance to say that I agreed with Yao's plan… Matthew thought sadly, sinking lower in his black leather seat.

"Wait, but Matthew hasn't agreed yet." Andrea pointed out.

"Oh! Sorry bro, do you agree with Yao's plan too?" The American asked him.

The Canadian nodded, smiling faintly. Alfred laughed obnoxiously and clapped him on the back firmly.

"Alright, since we all agree, let's make a list of the things we think we need to improve." Arthur said, efficiently taking out an old looking brown leather-bound book with a six pointed golden star on the cover.

"Dude, that looks more like a freakin' spellbook than a plain old notebook…" Alfred commented, shuddering with fear.

"Shut up, you git. Anyway, we need to work on respecting each other more, not speaking out of turn during meetings, and improving our products' quality…I think that's about it." The Brit scrawled the list down in his book.

"Honhon, he is right, non?" Francis chuckled, rubbing the stubble that dotted his chin with one hand.

Andrea giggled, and Matthew felt himself blushing as he gazed at her adoringly. M-maybe I'll ask her out to dinner after the meeting ends…

(Time Skip – End of Meeting)
The meeting had gone surprisingly well, and everyone had agreed to improve the production speed, and quality of the products created.

"Maybe we will finally be able to compete with the Axis Powers." Arthur noted, his green eyes glinting with hope.

"Oui, he is right again." Francis nodded in agreement.

"What the hell is wrong with you, frog? Stop agreeing with me already!" The British gentleman snarled.

"Umm…Andrea, would you…l-like to go to dinner with me?" Matthew whispered softly.

"Sure I will!" She squealed, and hugged him to her chest. Matthew felt his cheeks slowly turn crimson and thought, Her chest is surprisingly soft and squishy… his blue eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when he realized his head was not on her chest, but rather on a body part slightly lower. His face turned an even deeper shade of red as he mumbled, "A-Andrea, I…"

"Oh, sorry~" She giggled, releasing him from her clutches.

"Well, now that the meeting is over, I'm going to home." Arthur stood up, having completely missed what had happened, and straightened his crisp tie while fixing his sharp white suit jacket.

"McDonalds! The hero is coming for you!" Alfred shouted obnoxiously, running out the door in a completely undignified manner.

"So immature." Yao sniffed distastefully, rising to his feet and heading out of the room as well. Only Ivan seemed reluctant to leave, simply sitting there and staring at the table with big, blank violet eyes.

"Ivan, aren't you going home?" Andrea asked anxiously.

"I will go home later, da? You two can go ahead." The Russian man replied.

"Are you sure?" she wanted to know, not completely certain whether it was okay to leave.

"Da, I will be fine."

Matthew and Andrea both got up to exit the nearly empty meeting room together.
"So, where do you want to have dinner?" Andrea asked cheerfully, turning her head to look at Matthew.

"Um, I'm not sure…" The Canadian mumbled, lowering his cerulean blue eyes.

"Haha, you're so cute!" She exclaimed, standing on her tip toes to pat him on the blonde head as if he were a small child.
Matthew felt his face heating up again. "L-Let's go to the new sushi bar in town." He suggested hastily. Andrea agreed happily, and the two of them walked out onto the bustling streets of New York City.

"The sushi bar you're talking about is called Honda's Sushi, right?" Andrea inquired.
Matthew nodded, and shyly took her small hand in his. She responded by lightly squeezing his fingers. He blushed, and stared down at the red brick sidewalk they were walking on as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.

"Okay, here we are. Wow, this place is pretty nice." Andrea remarked, looking around the
small traditional Japanese house.
The Canadian merely nodded in agreement, gazing at the little kotatsus scattered evenly on the soft wooden floor.

A man came out of the house wearing a very manly apron with a cloth that pushed his shiny black hair away from his face. "Konnichiwa and welcome to Honda's Sushi. I am Kiku Honda, the owner of this sushi bar." The man said; his large coffee-brown eyes welcoming.
Matthew instantly recognized him as a worker for the Axis Powers.

"Onengai, come on in." Kiku ushered them through the white rice paper doors. The place was very neat and tidy, suiting the calm, relaxing atmosphere perfectly.

"Here, sit down." The Japanese man led them to one of the many kotatsus that looked very cozy. Matthew and Andrea both thanked him, smiling gratefully.

"What would you like to order?" Kiku asked, taking a small notepad and wooden pencil out of his manly apron.

"I would like onigri please." Andrea requested.

"Hai. Is that all? Then I will go get-"

"But you didn't even ask Matthew what he wanted!" She objected, cutting him off.

"Gomenesai. What would you like?" Kiku inquired, turning to him.

"M-may I please have otoro-maki please?" Matthew ordered, internally sighing. He was used to being forgotten.

"Hai. I will be back very soon." Kiku turned around to walk briskly towards what Matthew assumed was the kitchen, pushing aside a long beaded curtain.
In a matter of minutes, he returned with two plates – one heapedwith onigri and the other with a pile otoro-maki.

"Here you go. Would you like anything to drink?"

Both Andrea and Matthew declined the offer and dug into their food like ravenous lions.

(Time skip – next day)
Matthew woke up, feeling sick to his stomach, and wondered if it was caused by the sushi he had eaten the night before. Pulling out his cell phone, he dialed Andrea's number. She answered on the first ring with a weak, "Hello…?"

"Hi Andrea, it's me, Matthew. I'm not feeling so great…are you?"

"No, I feel really ill. Do you think it's because of the sushi?" Andrea asked.

"Maybe. I'm so sorry, this is all my fault." The Canadian sighed apologetically, hanging his head low.

"Don't be sorry, I had a blast." She replied reassuringly.

"Is there any way I can make it up to you?" Matthew begged, feeling horribly guilty.

"It's really okay; I have tons of fun spending time with you!"

"D-do you want to go on another d-date with me sometime?" he stammered.

"Of course I will, I love hanging out with you!" Andrea's happy voice piped.

"And I love you-" Matthew fell silent as his brain processed what words he had just uttered. His face slowly started to turn the color of a cherry, and he struggled for words to cover up his statement. "Ah, I mean-"

"I love you too, Matthew." Andrea's voice from the other line whispered, interrupting him.

---Extended Ending---

The next day, Matthew woke up with his stuffed polar bear next to him, wondering if yesterday's events were just a dream. "It seems so surreal… Oh, today I have another date with Andrea!" he gasped, sitting up abruptly in bed. The Canadian soon learned that trying to run a brush through his wavy blonde hair while simultaneously eating pancakes caked with maple syrup was not a good idea. Frowning at the mess on the floor, he slipped on his shoes and ran out the door at practically mach three. He really didn't want to be late. Andrea was waiting for him, dressed in the cutest outfit Matthew had ever seen in his life. He thought his heart stopped just from a glance at her.

Upon seeing him, she smiled happily and called, "Hey Matthew!" She began to run towards him, and he felt a blush start to creep on his face.

"H-hi Andrea." He mumbled shyly, looking at her. When she reached him, she threw her arms around his neck and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Matthew passed out, face rivaling that of a tomato.
